Come and challenge yourself to a night of geopolitical trivia! Bring friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and co-workers. Enjoy the opportunity to network and meet new and old acquaintances similarly engaged with the world.
Test your knowledge of geopolitics and compete for the chance to win a year's print subscription to Foreign Affairs, the preeminent geopolitical agenda-setting international relations journal published bimonthly by the Council on Foreign Relations. Each member of the winning team of two to five people will receive this prize.
Questions will focus on topics including: military and intelligence, politics, history, geography, diplomacy and culture. Specifically, two questions from each category will be asked in rapid succession over the course of an hour with teams working to provide answers without AI or internet assistance in five minutes or less. At the end, answers will be revealed, winners will be announced, prizes awarded and natΓΌrlich, fun ought be had by all.
To prepare, here are some sample questions that should distinguish the knowledgable from the neophyte:
Military and intelligence: What is A2/AD?
Politics: What was the phrase used by former German Chancellor Angela Merkel to signal to the public that the country was prepared to accept over one million refugees that came to the country in 2015? Answer can be in German or English.
Diplomacy: Prior to becoming Turkey's foreign minister, Hakan Fidan held what role in the Turkish government?
